Wrath of the Titans Monitored: Outstanding “No Animals Were Harmed”®
|
In this mythological sequel to “Clash of the Titans,” hero Perseus braves a mission to rescue Zeus, who has been captured by his evil son, Ares, and his brother, Hades.
Featured Animal Action:
All grounds were inspected for hazards and sets were closed off and secured. Cast and crew members were introduced to the animals and instructed on their proper handling.
In the scene where actor captures fish in net and holds it up, production provided documentation for “dead” fish.
Throughout the film, Perseus rides Pegasus, a winged horse, which was created through CGI.
There are a number of battle scenes where soldiers ride on horseback. Most of the warfare is on foot however; very few action sequences involving horses. Still, all horseback riders were stunt riders or experienced actors who were skilled at riding, mounting and dismounting. All running/galloping scenes were well choreographed, and actors used caution while on and near animals. All horse rearing was trained behavior.
