In Walker Payne, no animals were harmed, but “makeup magic” might make you think otherwise. Below are behind-the-scenes close-ups of some of the dogs that give convincing performances in the film.
“No Animals Were Harmed”®
What the moviegoer sees on the big screen is very different from the action that took place during the filming of Walker Payne. The seemingly brutal dogfights and resulting “injuries” were achieved through supervised play sessions and non-toxic makeup. Writer/director Matt Williams says, “I intended this film to be a blatant condemnation of a barbaric sport that has been deemed a felony in all 50 states.”
